PRM winner of the Best Chilled Supplier at ADM Londis Awards 02/10/2013

Chilled Supplier of the Year ADM LondisCarton House, Co. Kildare was the setting for the annual ADM Londis conference and awards dinner. The awards night honoured those retailers who achieved high standards in retailing. The supplier awards honoured those who contributed to the success of the group over the past year and achieved high standards in supply and service.

PRM were announced as the winners of the Best Chilled Supplier award. This was a great honour for Philip Morrow, Managing Director and Avril Fitzgerald, National Account Manager, who collected the award on the night. The award winners were chosen from a combination of votes by retailers, warehouse staff and Londis head office staff.

Speaking on the night, Philip Morrow thanked the Londis retailers who have worked with PRM over the past 20 years and looks forward to continued success.

PRM Support the Salvation Army

The Salvation ArmyPRM have been supporting the Salvation Army by donating short life stock. The products donated help feed the homeless and those families trapped in poverty.

Driver of the Year Award 14/09/2012

Driver of Year 2012We wish to congratulate Ian McCracken on winning the "Driver of the Year" award at the Export & Freight Transport and Logistics Awards.

Ian was nominated as one of the finalists and came away with the award after it being commented on that Ian was the first person to win this award with an outstanding and faultless driving assessment.

PRM's new Mercedes Actros on show at Ireland's Truckfest 10/08/2012

New Mercedes ActrosTruckfest is coming to the Kings Hall on the 18th and 19th of August. On show will be PRM's brand new Mercedes Actros (right) which was voted as "Truck of the Decade". This is one of the first trucks to arrive in Ireland and is one of the spectacles for the Road Haulage Industry.

Fresh Food Kitchen attend Balmoral Show 2012 25/06/2012

The Balmoral show has finished for another year. Well done to the Fresh Food Kitchen team for a marathon sampling and selling session over the three day event. The Northern Ireland Good Food Pavilion was the best yet with thousands of consumers sampling locally produced products. Fresh Food Kitchen would like to thank everyone who visted the stand and took part in the 'Guess How Many Eggs I've Laid' competition.

Fresh Food Kitchen runner up in the Ulster Grocers Marketing Awards 2012 05/03/2012

Success of Lisburn based PRM Group hailed by council 18/01/2012

Members of Lisburn City Council's Economic Development Committee recently toured the PRM site in Lisburn. PRM successfully participated in the Council's Netherlands Trade Development Programme in 2010.

As a result of the company's participation in the Netherlands Trade Development Programme it secured new contracts in the Dutch marketplace. Alderman Jim Dillon, Chairman of the Council's Economic Development Committee, said: "I am delighted that the Council's Netherlands Trade Development Programme has delivered success for PRM and I am very pleased to learn that this new Dutch business opportunity is growing from strength to strength, and is now expanding into Germany and further afield," he concluded.

Invest NI CEO visits Fresh Food Kitchen 20/10/2011

Fresh Food Kitchen is to create an additional 5 positions to work on the development of a new range of fresh soups.

Invest NI has offered support for the new positions though its Jobs Fund which was set up earlier this year to stimulate job creation in response to the challenges of the global economic downturn.

PRM GROUP has again been honoured at the annual Export & Freight Transport & Logistics Awards.

The company was presented with the prestigious 'Ireland's Top Fleet Livery of the Year' award, sponsored by Topaz, at a glittering ceremony at the Ramada Hotel in Belfast. The PRM Group has always taken great pride in the presentation of its fleet, recognising the benefits that this can bring to the business, acting as a moving billboard, advertising not only the company but also the brands it represents.

Fresh Food Kitchen Maintain Grade 'A' Global Standard Food Safety 09/05/2011

PRM's Fresh Food Kitchen factory has again successfully been approved to BRC global standard - Food issue 4 by I:FQC. Since the acquisition of the business in 2007 the factory has achieved this high standard of approval. The factory continues to produce high quality salads, desserts, pasta meals and potato products. Congratulations to all team members in maintaining this high standard.

PRM awarded Excellence Ireland Quality Association Award - Hygiene & Food Safety 24/09/2010

EIQA's National Quality and Excellence awards celebrate the drive, commitment and achievements of all nominated companies, committed to quality in the island of Ireland.

All participants of the EIQA programmes were given an unannounced audit by March 2010 and the Companies with the highest scores in each category were shortlisted and asked to submit a comprehensive application and overview of their systems.

The Hygiene & Food Safety award for Distribution was won by the PRM group on the first time of entry into the awards. The PRM group are delighted to have been not only nominated but then go on to win the category which is a superb achievement for all the people involved in the high standards set by PRM.

Irish Chilled Operator of the Year - Export & Freight Awards 2010 16/09/2010

For a third year the PRM Group has won the prestigious Irish Chilled Operator of the Year award at the annual Export & Freight Transport & Logistics Awards held in the Ramada Hotel in Belfast. Commenting on the win PRM's Managing Director and founder Philip Morrow stated "I am delighted that the business has been recognised for the third time, considering the strength of the competition. It gives me great pleasure accepting the award on behalf of PRM & the team, in recognition of their hard work and commitment."

Fresh Food Kitchen launches new products after major investment 20/07/2010

Fresh Food Kitchen has made a major investment in upgrading its production facilities and rebranding its product range to meet the growing demand for high quality convenience foods.

Launching eight new salads, deli fillers and snacks to its existing range of twelve products, all of which have improved quality and taste, Fresh Food Kitchen recognises the consumer's preference for purchasing local, handmade quality products.

Speaking at the launch, Lynne Morrow, Director of Fresh Food Kitchen, a PRM company said: "At Fresh Food Kitchen we use fresh ingredients, to create authentic flavours. All of the eggs used in our meals and accompaniments are free range and come from local farms, which enable us to offer the level of quality our consumers have come to expect. After months of development we are proud of our new range, we believe the contemporary packaging and superior taste will set us apart from the competition."

The new products are now on sale at over thousand retail outlets including Dunnes Stores, SuperValu, Centra, Spar, Mace and the Co-operative stores across Northern Ireland.

PRM look forward to a busy summer season distributing Unilever's ice cream products across Northern Ireland. PRM won the contract to distribute brands including Ben & Jerry's, Cornetto, Carte D' or, Magnum, Solero, Vienetta and HB ice creams to more than 1000 retail outlets and entertainment, leisure and tourism venues throughout the province. Shay Leonard of Unilever Ireland said, "Unilever's many years in the food industry have demonstrated to us the importance of having the best possible route to market, and we believe the PRM Group will ensure the very highest standards of distribution to our customers. As we look forward to a busy summer season, this is an exciting time with excellent opportunities for both Unilever and the PRM Group in Northern Ireland."

PRM Group Driver CPC Approved Training Centre 27/05/2010

The Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training (on behalf of the Secretary of State - GB, Dept for Environment - NI) have approved PRM as a Training Centre to deliver Driver CPC Periodic Training. PRM have also received approval to run training courses on LGV Driver Essentials during the forthcoming year. The first successful course was held on Wednesday 26th May 2010 for six of our own drivers, whose enthusiasm during the training has given added focus to PRM to run further courses throughout the year.

PRM obtain Q Mark status 08/02/2010

PRM have obtained the Q Mark for Hygiene & Food Safety at Level 3 Emerald standard. This is the highest level of certification in the EIQA programme and is awarded to organisations on successful completion of an unanounced audit. To achieve this level of certification, the organisation will have demonstrated that they are operating at the highest levels of Hygiene & Food Safety with a focus on continuous improvement. EIQA is the leading professional association for the advancement of quality practices and business improvement in Ireland and the Q Mark is the recognised symbol that guarantees the highest standards of Quality & Excellence.

PRM to distribute Unilever frozen ice cream brands. 09/11/2009

PRM are pleased to announce that they have been appointed the new concessionaire for Northern Ireland for the Unilever frozen ice cream brands. Unilever market leading brands include Magnum, Cornetto and Ben & Jerry's in the out-of-home and in-home sectors. On reveiving the news PRM Managing Director Philip Morrow commented, "I am delighted that PRM have been appointed Unilever Partner in Northern Ireland." He continued, "The addition of the Frozen Range to PRM's already extensive chilled portfolio will add to our depth of distribution."

PRM to distribute Dairy Crest. 01/10/2009

PRM announced an exclusive new sales and distribution agreement with Dairy Crest to manage their leading brands Cathedral City, Wexford, Utterly Butterly and FRijj flavoured milk drinks. Commenting, Simon Bradley, Business Unit Controller for Dairy Crest, who leads the company's convenience business in the UK and Ireland said, "We have been working with another distributor for several years, but felt we needed a partner who could put more focus on growing our business and increase our market presence and, with its expertise in chilled sales and distribution combined with its huge reach into all channels of the retail trade, PRM was the logical choice for us."

Expressing his Delight with the new agreement, Philip Morrow, Managing Director of PRM, added: "With our network of customers throughout the retail sector, including the irish multiples, symbol wholesalers, independents and convenience stores, we see a huge opportunity for the Dairy Crest brands in Ireland."

PRM have teamed up with Doherty & Gray Northern Ireland’s largest sausage manufacture to provide a sales and distribution service in the Republic of Ireland Market. Saints & Scholars  is a contemporary Irish brand with a product range consisting of four delicious flavours.

PRM Support Rotary Club of Lisburn's Charity Golf Day 10/09/2009

PRM sponsor charity golf day at Lisburn Golf Club to support Rotary International and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's pledge to eradicate Polio worldwide by 2012. Local charities 'Revive' and 'War on Want NI' were also supported by the event with Dame Mary Peters and Noel Thompson respectively there to represent and support their local charities.

PRM Launch New Van Sales Handheld System 18/07/2009

In keeping with PRM's aim to be ahead of the competition with regards to the latest technology, a state of the art van sales handheld system has been rolled out across the Northern Ireland business in July. The upgrade will enable the business and its supplier to exert greater control in regards to stock control, listings, core ranging, pricing and the business' long term goal of a paperless office. This investment will be rolled out through the companies Irish van sales fleet in the coming months.

Philip Morrow Finalist - Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2009 18/05/2009

Philip Morrow the Managing Director and founder of PRM has been shortlisted for the Ernest & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2009 in the Industry Category. On hearing of the nomination, Philip said "I am extremely proud that the business that Lynne and I founded 21 years ago has been acknowledged by this globally recognised business award." Following the announcement of the nomination in May, Philip and the other 23 nominees spent a productive week in Brazil, at the annual CEO Retreat, networking & sharing their experience with other businesses. Over the coming months the nominees will take part in various business events across Ireland and will be featured on RTE in a "day in the life" documentary to be aired in October. The announcement of the winners will be made at a televised gala awards ceremony in Dublin in late October.

Voice Controlled Pick System Introduced 01/02/2009

In January 2009, PRM implemented a cutting edge voice controlled picking system as part of its warehouse management systems upgrade. This has benefited the business by improving pick accuracy, rate of pick, replenishment and stock movement control. The introduction of "hands free, eyes free picking" has led to a safer and more environmentally friendly work place due to the removal of paper pick lists.

Michael Tohill, PRM's Haulage Manager has been awarded the prestigious title of Irish Transport Manager of the Year by Export & Freight at a gala ceremony in the Ramada Hotel in Belfast. The Judges believed that Michael was willing to take the driver's seat in emergency situation and lead by example.
